GB Camp was a BLAST!
Hello! I'm finally back from camp! Was supposed to post yesterday, but I fell asleep at 10pm and slept right through till 1pm today. Felt like such a pig, 15h or so of sleep? Haha, but I guess all mentors deserve to sleep. AND to bathe. We all bathed with dirty murky water, on account that SHSS was undergoing renovation, so all the water gor contaminated :/
After taking care of absolutely childish girls who knew no limits, I feel like becoming one myself. I mean seriously, I think the human mind is degrading. I don't think my batch was that way. Well, they were great girls still! Except for the whole 'I don't want to eat vegetables' thing. I tell you, I had to seat down with the girls and force vegetables down their throat. Except for the whole bullying mentors rampage they got into, the girls were angels (in disguise). HAHA (:
During teaching, praise & worship, I felt very touched and gratified to see some of them accepting Christ at an early age of 9-12 years old. So yeah, I went there to serve the Lord, and He was there, in the midst of us.
When I thought jumping around and doing actions were stupid and childish, it totally isn't. I regret not praising God with all my heart when I was P6. I made up for it during camp. :D
Taking care of the girls was a VERY TIRING process. The first night, we slept at 3am and woke up at 7am. The second night, we slept at 3.30am, and woke up at 7.45am. Was supposed to wake up at 7.30am, but all mentors overslept till someone suddenly woke up and screamed the whole room down. 'Get up everybody! It's 7.45am!' What happened after that was a flurry of events and all mentors were late :/
Went to Pasir Ris park on the second day to run around with the girls. They had to play around with the stuff there and were deemed as obstacle courses. My group only had 9 girls, so I had to play too! :D VERY BERY FUN! Haha :D I had to support the girls coming down the rock climbing wall, in which I hoped they wouldn't fart, cause my face was right in their asses. D: Or I would just faint.
Played water bomb too, in which the girls splashed and bombed the mentors like crazy which was D: Went back drenched and feeling very gross.
Highlight of the night was the NightWalk. :D 10 mentors supposedly were kidnapped by some baddie, so they had to come find us. But actually, we were all pigging out on MacWings and Sundaes at MacDonalds opposite St. Hilda's! :D While they were all getting 'tortured' by the other 10 mentors who acted as guards. In one of the 'tortures', they had to drink this disgusting-looking thing from a potty, which was actually nutella smeared on the sides of the potty, coupled with chrysanthemum tea and a few pieces of tissue paper thrown in for effect. :D
Overall, the camp was really great, and I miss St. Hilda's and 35th Coy. If only I could be 12 again. HAHA :D
